Thermostat User Guide for Arcadia Flats

Definitions:

  1. Temperature set point: The desired room temperature selected by the user. The temperature set point can range from 67°F – 74°F.

Modes:

  1. Off
    1. No heating or cooling.
  2. Auto
    1. The room temperature will automatically increase or decrease until the desired temperature set point is achieved.
    2. The fan will turn off once the room temperature matches the temperature set point.
    3. The fan will turn back on automatically and provide heating or cooling as required if the room temperature deviates more than +/- 1°F from the temperature set point.

Operation:

  1. Tap [System Mode] button to toggle between “off” and “auto” modes.
  2. When in “auto” mode:
    1. Tap [Increase Temperature Set point] or [Decrease Temperature Set point] to display the current temperature set point.
    2. Tap [Increase Temperature Set point] or [Decrease Temperature Set point] again to increase or decrease the temperature set point.
  3. When in “off” mode:
    1. The fan will turn off. There will be no heating or cooling.

Occupancy Status:

  1. Occupied
    1. The apartment is considered “occupied” when the motion sensor detects movement. While the apartment unit is “occupied”, the room temperature will be maintained according to the mode and temperature set point selected by the user.
  2. Unoccupied
    1. After 18 hours of inactivity (i.e. no motion in the apartment is detected), the thermostat will go into “unoccupied” mode. When the apartment is “unoccupied”, the room heat to maintain a minimum temperature of 60°F or cool to maintain a maximum temperature of 80°F. The apartment will switch back to “occupied” as soon as movement is detected again, and the room will begin heating or cooling according to the previous mode and temperature set point selected by the user.

Note: For residents of 2-bedroom and 4-bedroom Flat Apartments, the thermostat located in the bedroom is for temperature display only. Residents must use the thermostat located in the living room to adjust the mode and temperature setpoint for the entire apartment unit.
