Master Sergeant Bradley Thieroff
Bio:

Master Sergeant Bradley Thieroff is a native of Clyde, Ohio. He enlisted in the Ohio Army National Guard as an Engineer on 17 January 2002 and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004 and later entered active duty as an Infantryman on 6 August 2005.

Upon entering active duty, MSG Thieroff assumed the position of a Bradley Fighting Vehicle driver and held every position in the platoon including team leader and squad leader within Alpha Company, 1st Battalion 67th Armor Regiment at Fort Carson, CO. He deployed to Iraq in 2008 supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom while serving as a team leader. Upon redeployment, he was promoted to staff sergeant and assigned as squad leader. MSG Thieroff later deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Upon redeployment from Afghanistan, he served as a Drill Sergeant assigned to 2nd Battalion 54th Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning, GA from 2012 to 2015. Following his successful assignment as a Drill Sergeant, he returned to Fort Carson to serve as a platoon sergeant in Bravo Company, 1st Battalion 8th Infantry Regiment. MSG Thieroff deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve and rotated throughout the eastern boarders of Romania, Poland, and Bulgaria in 2017. In 2018 he moved positions within the battalion to serve as the battalion master gunner where he served as the advisor to the battalion commander. Later, he moved to serve as the brigade master gunner serving as the advisor to the brigade commander and deployed to Kuwait in 2019 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Upon redeployment, MSG Thieroff was promoted to Master Sergeant and assigned as the First Sergeant of Bravo Company. After completion as the company first sergeant, he was later moved to Western Michigan University to serve as the senior military science instructor where he currently trains future officers.

MSG Thieroff is a graduate of the Basic Leaders Course (commandants list), Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Master Leader Course (distinguished honor graduate), and the Drill Sergeant Academy (commandants list). He was also a graduate of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle Master Gunner Course, Advanced Situational Awareness course, Basic Combatives Course, and the Advanced Combatives Course.

MSG Thieroff’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (Valor device and 4OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Award, Superior Unit Award, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Master Gunner Identification Badge, and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge. In addition he is a recipient of the Infantry Association’s Order of the Saint Maurice.
