Staff Sergeant Maggie Thompson
Bio:

SSG Thompson is a native of Palatka, FL. She enlisted in the Army as a Human Resource Specialist in August of 2014 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC.

SSG Thompson’s first duty station was Fort Cavazos, TX where she was assigned to the 115th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division and assumed duties as a Human Resource specialist in the S-1 shop. While assigned to the 115th BSB, she went on a nine-month tour to Camp Casey, South Korea and continued to serve as a Human Resource Specialist.

Upon completion of her tour in South Korea, SSG Thompson was then assigned to the 595th Military Police Company, 508th Military Police Battalion in Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA where she served as an administrative NCO and section leader.

In December of 2020, SSG Thompson was then assigned to the 3-47th Infantry Battalion, 197th Infantry Brigade in Fort Moore, GA where she served as a floor NCO and section leader within the S-1 shop.

SSG Thompson is currently serving as a Military Science and Leadership Instructor as well as the Administrative NCO at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. SSG Thompson is a graduate of the Basic Leader’s Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Human Resources Assistant Course, Military History Instructor Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course and the Master Resilience Trainer Course. Her awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, and the Humanitarian Service Ribbon.
