A variety of food options is available at the International Congress on Medieval Studies on the campus of Western Michigan University and beyond. 

Student Center Dining

The Student Center is located on Main Campus across from Sangren Hall. Student Center Dining, on the third floor, offers all you care to eat meals with a variety of fresh food options in a restaurant-style environment. Hosts and hostesses are available to provide help; just ask a cashier for assistance.

Meal tickets

Advance meal tickets (purchased through Congress registration) can be used for any meal served in Student Center Dining. Meals can also be purchased at the door.

During the 59th Congress, Student Center Dining Hours were:

  • Breakfast (Thursday–Saturday): 7 – 9 a.m.
  • Lunch (Thursday–Saturday): 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • Dinner (Wednesday–Saturday): 5 – 7:30 p.m.
  • Brunch (Sunday): 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Located in Waldo Library, offering grab-n-go sandwiches, salads, Jet’s Pizza, sushi, fruit, chips, beverages, snacks and candy.

Located on the second floor of Sangren Hall, offering grab-n-go sandwiches, salads, Jet’s Pizza, sushi, fruit, chips, beverages, snacks and candy.

  • Friday- Saturday: 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m

Located on the first floor of the Student Center, Fuego Verde offers customers the option to craft your own taco, burrito or bowl from freshly grilled and zesty ingredients.

  • Thursday – Saturday: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Located on the first floor of the Student Center, Mi Pi offers customers the option to build an artisan pizza from a selection of bold and classic Italian flavors, crisply fired in a state-of-the-art hearthstone oven.

  • Wednesday: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Thursday – Saturday: 11 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Located on the first floor of the Student Center, Re Fresh offers sandwiches, salads, soup, sushi, fruit, bagels, muffins, chips, beverages, snacks, and candy. Health and beauty items and sundries are also available.

  • Wednesday: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Thursday – Saturday: 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Located on the first floor of the Student Center, Starbucks offers an assortment of coffee, teas, specialty beverages, and food.

  • Thursday – Saturday: 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Cash bars are set up throughout the Student Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Area Restaurants

Information about Kalamazoo area restaurants, some within walking distance of Congress locations, are available at on-campus registration and at the table in the Student Center. Congress weekend tends to be high school prom weekend, so advance reservations are strongly encouraged.
